The Fourth

So, we wanted to make the best of our 4th of July in the hospital. We planned a BBQ with some 'neighbors' and heard rumor that a couple firework shows could be seen from the hospital grounds.

Well...our plans did not come to pass quite as we had hoped. Our nurse turned into a total pyscho hose-beast, so our food wasn't done until 9:30 pm because Scott had to cook it all over at the hotel, which is about 10-15 minutes away. But, there's still the promise of fireworks, right? Wrong. All we could see were flashes of light and smoke because of all the tall buildings and trees. That's ok, we still have our picnic to eat on the lawn, right? Right..until the sprinklers came on. Emma & Michael had a great time playing in the sprinklers, though. So, they had a good time. Suffice it to say it was not the glorious holiday we had imagined.

But, that's okay. We have a lot to be thankful for. Family, Friends, Freedom, F...what else starts with F? I was on a roll there. Uhm, Frankfurters? Nope. Frisbees? Sure. Faith? YES! There we go. That's a good one. Definitely thankful for Faith.

All the holidays & birthdays the last couple months have been kinda bleh, so I promised Scott that we would have a BEAUTIFUL Christmas!

  2. Sorry about the bummer holiday, I would have been royally miffed. I am glad the kids made the best of it though, their little spirits can sure change a situation for the better. Hang in there as you prepare to get your family home again. Loves!
