Hangin' at the Hospital

Since Michael and Emma have been here at the hospital Katelynn has made a lot of progress. She is much happier to have her other 2 halves with her. She smiles a lot more, is more willing to participate in her therapy sessions and is talking a lot more. It hasn't been the easiest to have Emma and Michael here, but it hasn't been too difficult either. This hospital is very family-oriented, with playrooms for the kids and an enclosed playground to run around in.

Also, they have made friends with some of the 'neighbor' kids. The nine year old boy next door and Michael have become best friends. It was so cute yesterday because the boy's nurse was trying to get him to do something, and Michael started yelling at her, "Leave him alone! He's my friend!" Michael is always talking about how this boy is his friend. It is so precious. Maybe it's because this boy shares his toys with Michael and gives him chips. I don't know, but I think it has been good for both of them.

Right now Katelynn is over at another hospital having some tests run to find out what is wrong with her belly, because it is swollen up again. They know that it doesn't have anything to do with her kidneys, thank goodness. Part of the problem is that she is WAY backed up and constipated, with not much relief from enemas and laxatives. Poor kid! Also, her cheeks have swollen up, and they have no idea why, so they have to figured that out as well. Hopefully, they will be able to figure it out here at this hospital, because we really don't want to have to move back over to the other hospital again.

We thought we would only be at this hospital for a couple of weeks, but it doesn't look like that will be the case, now does it?

P.S. Tiffiny- you should put me on your 'list of people who can read your blog'! :)
