On our second day in San Diego we spent the whole day at the beach! It was so relaxing, and the time just flew by! It was fun to just hang out as a family with no where to go. While we were there we spotted a family of three dolphins and chased them down the shore. We also collected seashells & sand dollars, chased sea gulls and played with the beach ball. I have decided that I would love to live somewhere near the beach, or at least have the beach a reasonable drive away.
We picked up a boogie board at Costco, and the kids had fun getting 'rides' on that. Scott & I also took turns going out with the board. The water was pretty chilly, so I'm glad we had wetsuits!
A lot of time was spent digging this huge hole with a bridge dividing the two sides of the hole. While Scott & the kids were working on it we had several different families come by to see it, and had a bunch of kids join in to help with the digging.
"Hotel Del Coronado. I'm going there someday..." I love that place! There's just something kind of magical about it. I can't really explain it.
It was a beautiful day to be at the beach. But, because it was overcast, and because the time passed by so quickly, we all got totally fried! I am so glad we were able to have a quick little getaway. It was a great trip!
