Time Out for Jilly

Last weekend I was able to attend Time Out For Women with some of my friends. We went on Friday night and Saturday. It was a lot of fun, and all the speakers were awesome. There were times we were laughing so hard we were crying! And all the speakers were very uplifting, too. On Friday night Jenny Oaks Baker performed. Whoa! She is an amazing violinist!!

The only part of the whole two days that was not as enjoyable was whenever Kenneth Cope performed. He is just SO cheesy and his shirts were wild! And, we only recognized two of the songs he performed. Upon reflection we realized that the only reason we knew those songs is because they were popular when we were teenagers. Ha ha ha! So Kenneth, if you're reading this, I'm sorry, but we were just underwhelmed by your contribution. We may have enjoyed it more if we were still single, giggly teenagers, rather than married, giggly 20-somethings.

On Saturday there was an 80 minute lunch break, so we brought our lunches and sat at some tables outside the convention center. It was a beautiful day, if not a little too warm.

I'm really glad I was able to go. It was uplifting and nice to get out of the house for a couple of days. If you ever have a chance to attend a Time Out For Women I would totally recommend it.

  3. Your kidding me, I thought that Kenneth Cope was older like 40's older. When I was introduced to his music on my mission I pictured a seminary teacher that was getting close to retiring but was still quite popular because he played his own music in class. He even sounds geriatric when singing. Oh and talk about hokey, on my mission we would always instead of singing white dress (in his incredibly corny pitch for temple work) we would sing waitress instead. Are you sure that's not a picture of Kenneth Cope Jr.

  4. Stephen--That's what was ridiculous. He's in his 40s or something and all these ladies were getting excited. That picture of him was taken at the conference. It's just a little fuzzyish 'cause I took a picture of the screen they were projecting everyone onto. I think your 'seminary teacher' idea could be right on target. It was pretty nuts.

Pam--You're just silly. You always look beautiful.

    Janelle--Isn't it, though?!
