Just like a tattoo...
For some odd reason the kids like to draw on themselves. Why is that?! The other day Michael drew a picture on his bicep. He said it is a fishy in a tank. Thought you might like to see his "tatt" before it washes off.
"Show me your muscles..."

A funny story that is related...One day we were at the park and the kids were talking to a lady with a tattoo on her foot. Michael said, "What's that?" and she said, "A mistake." Ha ha ha!
Birthday Picnic
Right after Scott's last final we had a little picnic to celebrate {THREE} birthdays; Scott, Nathan and Pam. It wasn't anything fancy. We just had everyone bring a picnic lunch for their families, chatted, let the kids play and had ice cream cake. It was nice to visit with everyone before they left for Thanksgiving break and to recognize their birthdays.
I'm still trying to figure out how the heck to work this new post editor on Blogger, so please excuse the strange positioning of the pictures. I can't fiddle with it any more!
Oh, and Katelynn took the group pictures. Not bad for a four-year old, eh?
And, Kristen--I'm sorry we didn't take the group picture till after you guys left. I totally spaced it. But you're not getting off that easy next time!

Remembering Christ at Christmas Open House
This Friday & Saturday (December 18th and 19th) from 6:30 to 9 pm there will be an open house called "Remembering Christ at Christmas". It is going to be a lot of fun! I will be there on Friday night because I am singing in one of the choirs that are performing that night. If you live in the area you should check it out!
Here is the description I got off of the newspaper's website:
December 18 - December 19 6:30-9:00 pm Remembering Christ at Christmas Live Nativity
An outdoor live nativity scene with animals, including nativity scenes collected from around the world, are featured at the 'Remembering Christ at Christmas' open house sponsored by the Peoria Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located on 83rd Avenue and Sweetwater in Peoria (1/2 mile south of Thunderbird Rd.). Free and open to the public, this family friendly open house will have something for everyone. Adults will enjoy the ongoing traditional Christmas music performed throughout the evening, featuring a Christmas carol sing-along each evening at 8:00 pm. A brief movie about the birth of Christ will run throughout the evening. Children will especially love petting the animals and the craft activity reserved just for them. Come and enjoy this free event with your family.
*FYI- they are also having family pictures and refreshments!

Funny Kids
I found a random post-it with this exchange between Michael and I written on it. This happened, oh, probably last year sometime.
J: Michael, go wash your hands.
M: But, I have water in my mouth and water on my tongue. I can use that to wash 'em. That's a good idea!
The other night at dinner Michael was shaking his head from side to side and hitting it.
S: Why are you hitting yourself in the head?
M: No, my arms are just playing catch with my head!
This morning in the tub the kids were shaping their lathered up hair.
E: What do I look like?
J: I don't know. What do you think?
M: I think maybe a...YAK!
J: A yak, huh?
M: Yeah. What do I look like?
J: I don't know. What do you think?
E: I think maybe an arrow. You're pointing and saying, "Go that way".
Where do these kids come up with this stuff?!

Back online
Yes, we are back online! Woo hoo! Here is just a little run-down of some of the things that have happened in the last little bit.
* Last Saturday night there was an Adult Christmas Dinner with a potluck and a little Nativity program. Scott & I were Joseph and Mary. I sang "Mary's Lullaby". It went well, except for when I forgot the order of the words on the chorus of verse two and had to wing it! But, that's okay. It was fun to dress up and participate in the program.
*The whole family received their white belts in karate. The kids are still in Little Tigers, and Scott & I have been invited to join the black belt training course.
* I have a camera again! Yippee skippy!
* There are a few other things that have happened that I feel deserve their own posts, such as decorating the Christmas tree, Disneyland, building a snowman in downtown Peoria & my kidnapping! Also on the docket are a couple of recipe posts for What's in {Your} Oven?, a post about painting mini-pumpkins (yes, I know it's way past Halloween) and a post involving the inaccuracies in Sleeping Beauty. So, you are all in for a treat, or some new posts at least.
Hope you are all having a wonderful holiday season thus far!
