DISNEYLAND!!

The week before Thanksgiving Scott's parents took us to DISNEYLAND!! Here are a few pictures of our trip. Oh, who am I kidding...there are a TON of pictures from the trip. By the way, the week before Thanksgiving is the BEST week to go to Disneyland. It is one of their slowest weeks of the year, so there aren't as many people there and the lines are not bad at all. There were several times we were able to stay on the ride and go another time, even the popular ones like Splash Mountain and Pirates.

Here's the whole group on Big Thunder, or as Michael calls it..."the crazy train ride". Michael was so funny, because he loved the ride, but insisted on being nestled into Scott's side the whole time. When asked if he like the ride, he said, "I like it, except for when it does all the crazy stuff. Then I don't like it."

The kids being crazy in front of another crazy ride...Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, aka "Mr. Toad's Crazy Car".

Emma & Grandpa and Katelynn & Daddy waiting in line to go on "Small World". Emma loved the lights. Katelynn was just plain tuckered out.

Scott riding "It's a Small World". Is he thinking:
a) this ride is LAME! Will it ever end?!
b) you're taking pictures AGAIN?!
c) all of the above.

I'm not sure. You'll have to ask him next time you see him.

The girls swordfighting with Grandma after the parade.

You *have* to go on the teacups! The kids all rode in one teacup with Scott and he turned that thing as fast as he could. They loved it!

Cinderella's castle all lit up and decorated for Christmas. After the fireworks shows they made it "snow" in the plaza by the castle and down Main Street. It was so magical. Seeing the 'snow' falling and looking at the Christmas lights made me tear up. "I'm dreaming of a white Christmas..."

The kids meeting Pluto, Goofy and Geppetto. I love how Katelynn is hugging Pluto's nose. So sweet.

This was the look on Emma's face when she came back over to me after meeting Goofy. Disneyland is the best with kids!

Katelynn warming up inside Grandpa's jacket. Compared with Arizona, California was a little chilly!

Michale waiting to go on the Finding Nemo submarine ride.

All three together. I love the girls in pigtails!

The whole fam with Brer Bear.  The kids' favorite ride was Splash Mountain, or "Zip-a-Dee-Do-Dah". They requested to go on it over and over and over again. The girls even raised their arms on the big drop!

Goin' for a ride with Goofy. He spent a decent amount of time with the kids.

Meeting Mickey. They loved meeting the characters, as well as looking around their houses.

Meeting Donald, Scott's favorite character. And, coincidentally, Michael & Scott were both wearing Donald shirts that day.

On our last day Scott's parents had to leave the park early to catch their flight home, and we stayed at the park. Since the kids now outnumbered the adults, the kids had to ride alone on some of the rides. During their first ride alone I was freaking out a little. My little babies are growing up!!! Here's a picture of Emma & Katelynn together on the Buzz Lightyear ride. The Woody ride (Midway Mania) and the Buzz ride were also among the kids' favorites.

The customary "in front of the castle" picture.

Waiting to go on the Ferris Wheel in California Adventure. I think the kids just wanted to ride it 'cause it has a huge Mickey face on it.

I love catching the looks on the kids' faces when they are mid-ride. I especially love Katleynn's face here. That ferris wheel was a little scarier than I thought! Maybe I should have ridden in the non-swinging gondola with Grandma & Grandpa!

Mommy & Emma on Autopia. I hope Emma's driving improves before she is 16!!

Taking a turn on the carousel.

We took the kids to see the Playhouse Live show. They thought it was so fun. We also went and saw "Honey We Shrunk the Audience", "Aladdin" (which is really well done...worth the hour in my opinion), a couple shows at The Golden Horseshoe and "It's a Bug's World" (or whatever it's called).

Grandma & Michael, Grandpa & Emma and Daddy & Katelynn on the bumper cars in Bug Land. Holy Cow! I could have crawled faster than those things went!

Other rides the kids loved were Winnie the Pooh, Pirates of the Caribbean, Jungle Cruise and Peter Pan. During one of the shows at The Golden Horseshoe, Scott was called up on stage to be part of the show! He was supposed to be a bear and growl really loud. It was super funny.

We had a great trip. The kids loved it and did surprisingly well for how much it threw their schedule out of whack. Having an awesome breakfast buffet and kitchenette in our hotel room was a big help. When on a longish trip with little kids I would highly recommend having a room with a kitchenette, or at least a fridge. But, I digress. In conclusion, it was a fun trip. Thanks, Grandma & Grandpa!

  1. Awesome! Sure looks like a great time. I have to admit being a little jealous that your kids were tall enough for the good rides, maybe my kids will grow someday! :)
