Early Release

Yesterday the kids had an early release day, so we stopped and played at the park on the way home. Once we got home we had some lunch, then headed over to the library. We got their prizes from the winter reading program - 2 plastic toys, a book, and a t-shirt! - and I let them play in the kids' area for a while. They'd never been to this library, so they were having a lot of fun.

I love how laid back early release days are. No rush to get home and start on homework. More time between the end of school and dinner prep... Ah, so nice! Can't they get all their school work done in a few hours and come home by 11 or 12 everyday?!
