It might be a while...

Hey, guys. Just a quick post to let you know that:

a) We're back from our trip to California with Scott's folks. It was a lot of fun, and I will be blogging about it eventually.
b) We had a lovely Thanksgiving here in Arizona. It was just the 5 of us, but we had a fun time together as a family and I will blog it more sufficiently later.
c) Our computer is having issues right now, so I have no idea when I will be able to update the blog again. Hopefully it will be sooner than later.
d) My camera is psycho and I have to send it in to get it fixed at the 'your camera is still under warranty fix-it' center. They say it takes 12-14 days from the time they get it before you get it back. Aaah! Right in the middle of all the holiday festivities!! And, last time we went to the zoo I dropped Scott's camera & broke it, so basically we are camera-less. So, when I do finally have the opportunity to update the blog, the photos will be either taken by the dinky camera on my phone or will be non-existant.
e) I'm sorry about the blogging hiatus, but I hope you have a wonderful holiday season, and you can still give me a call or send me a text anytime. I will try to get online and blog when I can.

Love you, buh-bye!

Halloween 2009

This year for Halloween we had a lot of fun. First, we went to our church Halloween party. The activities committee did a great job. They had 2 bounce houses, carnival games, a costume contest, a chili cook-off and a trunk-or-treat.

Here is Michael sitting in line during the contest judging. He won 3rd place in the 4-6 year old group! His prize was a little flashlight necklace with pumpkins all over it. He loves that thing!

Trunk-or-Treat. There were a ton of cars lined up for the trunk-or-treat. I was really impressed with how many cars there were and how awesome some people's cars were decorated. Oh, and I have to tell you--Scott's costume was awesome. He had on his waders, fishing boots & hat, and clipped a little Book of Mormon to the end of the line on his fishing pole, so he was a *drumroll, please* FISHER OF MEN!! Get it ?!?! Fisher of... Okay, well *I* thought it was funny.

After the party, we headed back home and decided to do a little trick-or-treating around our neighborhood. It's funny-- here in Arizona a lot of people just sit out in their driveway and wait for the trick-or-treaters, rather than have you go up to the door. It's so warm that they might as well, I guess. It also seems that there are a lot fewer people home handing out candy. I think a lot of people go to the mall or events in the community or at their churches, rather than the traditional trek from house to house. But, I digress.

At one of the houses we stopped at, our neighbor gave each of the kids a Kool-Aid bottle. They thought it was so cool, because we never ever buy those. Here's Michael enjoying his and trying to walk at the same time. It's not an easy task, you know.

Here's Emma showing off her loot.

Near the end of our trip around the block, the kids started dragging their buckets because they were "too heavy". Well, their buckets *did* get pretty full. At almost every house the people were, like, "You guys are too cute! Here, take a handful. You want more? Take it!"

All three smiling and enjoying some candy after a fun-filled Halloween.

A little catching up to do...

Hi! Sorry I have not posted about Halloween yet. I will someday, I promise *cough, cough*that'sforyouStephen*cough, cough*.

This week was FINALS, and Scott did AWESOME!! I'm glad we have another semester of med school down. This semester was kinda brutal. Tests up the wazoo, I tell you! We are grateful for wonderful friends who have helped us out on many occasions, and our wonderful Father in Heaven for helping us every single day. We are truly blessed! (not to go all "TAMN" on you or anything. Hee hee hee...)

Now Scott has a 2 week break for Thanksgiving, so we are meeting his parents in California and are going to DISNEYLAND!! It will be the kids' first time, and I am so excited to see their faces when they meet the Mouse! I just know they will love the whole place.

We will be back the week of Thanksgiving, then school starts again the Monday after Turkey Day. Nothing else has really been happening that I can think of. Hope you all have a wonderful day, and I will let you know how our trip was when we get back!

Funny Kids

Really quick...

K: Who's house are we going to?
J: I could tell you, but then I'd have to KILL you!
K: But you don't have a sword, silly.

Halloween Party at Midwestern

Every year at Daddy's school they have a big Halloween party for the students and their families. They have trick-or-treating to all the offices, then games and crafts in the student center.

Here are the kids trick-or-treating in the library.

Walking around campus.

Sword fight with Daddy. I love the looks on the girls' faces in this picture!

Emma working on a craft.

Katelynn makes a mask.

Michael pausing from coloring for a moment.

Then after the party we went over to a friend's house and played Pictionary Man and Rock Band, both of which we'd never played before. We had a lot of fun. The kids always play well together, and the adults always play well together, too.

Hot Date

A couple weeks ago Scott & I were able to go on a date!! Woo hoo!! We don't get out on dates very often, so we were quite excited. We went out to dinner at Bangkok Thai Grill, which is this little hole-in-the-wall place with great Thai food. I'm a wimp and don't like my Thai too spicy, but Scott says, "The spicier, the better!". One dish we ordered at medium spiciness, and after one bite I had to feel around to see if my mouth was still there, 'cause I couldn't feel it anymore! It was, of course, Scott's favorite dish.

Here we are at our table. I took some pictures, because it seems like we don't have very many pictures of just Scott & I. Most of our pictures are of the kids. And, yes, this is the best picture we got. Man, we look like dorks! But we're awesome dorks, right?! Right? *tap, tap* Is this thing on...

Cheeto Heaven

Why do kids like Cheetos so much? I mean, they're okay, but when I see Cheetos, all I see is a big, orange mess!

Enjoy your spoils, kids. And be glad that you are blessed with a Daddy who will give them to you once in a while.
