Katelynn is having ANOTHER relapse!!! They say that any sickness can trigger it. We were all sick and, lo and behold, she is relapsing. We tested her urine last night and it showed she was WAY positive for protein. We called the doctor this morning and they said, "Bring her in." So, I had to drive to downtown Phoenix just to have the doc look at her for two seconds and hand me the prescription for prednisone. Duh. And I drove 45 minutes WHY?! Plus, I ran into rush housr on the way home!
I mean, I can see the doctor's reasoning, because if he just prescribed the meds without looking at her and seeing a positive "protein in the urine" test result and something happened he could be in deep doo doo. But, it's still frustrating. We're thinking about possibly switching our insurance just to be able to visit a new clinic that opened not too long ago that is MUCH closer, because the drive is seriously a pain.
So, we just have to keep up with this prednisone twice a day till her urine tests negative, then wean her off of it. The doctors say that most children eventually grow out of this and have no more problems with it. Let's hope that is the case with Katelynn.

Sickies
Not much going on around here. On Sunday the girls stayed home from church sick, then yesterday I got sick. In the late afternoon I just started freezing, and when I took my temp later it was 101.5!! That's pretty bad, because my normal body temp is lower than most people's. Today I'm still feelin' pretty weak. It's not a good time for me to be sick, because Scott has finals this week. He did pretty good on his test yesterday, and now he has 2 more tests before he's done. Yea!
So, he has a one week break that starts on Friday afternoon. We plan on just staying here and doing some fun things as a family, 'cause he also has to take some time to study for the boards, which are coming up in July(?). Why start so early, you ask? Well, they have school up until 2 weeks before the boards, and 2 weeks isn't very long to study 2 YEARS worth of material! I know we will both be glad when med school is OVER.
Hmmm...what else? We went to the park on Thursday for ward playgroup. That's always a lot of fun. The girls in my ward are awesome. We also went to a Primary activity on Thursday. The kids didn't have soccer on Saturday because of the RAIN! Seriously, we have been getting a ton of rain lately. It's kinda weird. I mean, I'm not complaining. It's just strange.
Nothing else has really been going on, I guess. I just felt bad that I hadn't posted anything for a little while. I feel like I'm pretty busy and there's always stuff going on, but when you type it out it doesn't look like you're doing anything at all. Guess that's how it goes in the life of a mother. ;)

Itty Bitty Open
On Saturday the kids were able to participate in the Itty Bitty Open, which was a little golf tournament sponsored by the Junior Golf Association of Arizona. They had a lot of fun, and were excited that they were able to bring home their clubs and balls!
I was able to get some pictures from the guy who works for the rec center who was in charge of the event. Here is a picture of Emma & Katelynn on the 'course', which was in a big field. They spray painted circles on the ground around the flags to represent the green, and another circle where the 'hole' was, with a flag sticking up out of it.
Here are a couple of group shots that they took at the end. The kids are sitting on the ground in the front, and Scott & I are standing up on the right-hand side.

Wedding Blues
The kid's Primary chorister got married and we went to her reception. They ran up to her and gave her a big hug. They love her so much. They had fun at the wedding and each got a flower to take home.
We had the invitation on the fridge and Katelynn said, "Why is there a picture of my singing teacher on the refrigerator?" and I said, "Because she is getting married and that's an invitation to her wedding." "Why is she getting married?" "Because she found a boy that she loves and they are getting married." "Is she still going to go to our church?" "Uhm, I don't know. I guess it will depend on where the live after they get married." (Katelynn puts her head in her hand) "Crap...that is crap." "Katelynn!! Don't say that!"
Oh, and a friend of mine was talking to Katelynn last Sunday, and this is what she said:

"Oh my goodness, last Sunday your little girl... I always mix up names, but your little one that has short hair, asked me during sacrament where Sister Miller was. I asked if she meant her music teacher, she said she did. I told her she went to Europe, that she went on vacation. Then she gave me the oddest look, then said "But, it's Sunday, she can't be on vacation!" It was officially adorable!"
Catching Up
Sorry I haven't posted anything for a while. One reason is that I hate doing a post without any pictures attached to it, and my camera has been refusing to turn on! Yes, it is the new one I just got mid-December. Luckily it is still under warranty, so I have shipped it back and they will be sending me a new one, which I will (hopefully) be receiving soon.
Let's see...what has happened lately?
* The kids are still in their little soccer class every Saturday morning. They really get a "kick" out of it. (I just crack myself up sometimes) Now I just have to decide what I want to sign them up for next!
* We are in the process of shopping schools. We have attended the parent info night at two different charter schools, which we really like. At one of the schools we already have a spot, and at the other one we are on a waiting list. So, I guess we will just see what happens. We still have one more charter school to tour, as well as our neighborhood school. The thing we like best about the two schools we have already visited is that they teach History and Geography, as opposed to Social Studies, which is where you really get fed all the social agenda crap. We also like the curriculum they use for the other subjects. So, wish us luck as we try to decide which school to put the kiddos into.
* We have been feverishly searching for a new car/truck/minivan, since Scott's car is on its last legs and has been for quite some time. So, looking for that diamond in the rough has been...fun. I really want a minivan, but it's hard to find one with low miles in our price range, and we want a vehicle that will last us for a while.
* Emma & Katelynn gave each other a haircut! Now Emma's hair is about shoulder length. *sob* I will do a proper post on that later and provide photos.
* We have had the pleasure to attend some birthday parties, ward playgroups and the park. The weather has been gorgeous, if not a little on the chilly side.
* On Saturday we participated in the Itty Bitty Open, which was a little golf 'tournament' for kids. They gave each child a set of 3 clubs, a case, 3 balls and a visor. It was funny to see all the little kids trying to play golf. I'll post a picture if I can get a hold of one.
* The last couple of weeks have been really rough for mommy. Looking back, I think it must have been due to the medication I was on. Man alive, it was bad! I thought I was going completely crazy! Thankfully, I am feeling a ton better now. I feel so bad for Scott, though, because I was a...well, a not very nice person, let's just put it that way. Glad to have friends who are willing to listening to my crying and doing what they can to help out. Sometimes I feel like I am always needing help . I hope people don't think of me as "that friend" who is way needy. Bleh.
* I embarrassed myself in front of the General Sunday School president. Good times, good times...
Not much else to report. I will try to get some more posts up so that my blog is fun and exciting to read again. Well, I mean, if it ever *was* fun and exciting to read. Ha ha!
